Hobie is constantly explaining why he makes such a production of everything. It’s just his nature. Hobie has spent 10 years producing not only magnificent parades but also spectacular football half-time shows. He speaks the language of band directors with a fluency commanded only by those who know their stuff. Speaking of command, young performers in particular respond beautifully under Hobie’s accentuate-the-positive direction. He can, for example, choreograph a dance troupe of dozens, uttering nary a negative word. Hobie’s creativity is diverse: music selection, staging, costuming. Want props? Tailor-made: from precious hand puppets to jagged mountain peaks that roll onto a football field and provide the backdrop for 14-foot tall giraffes and . . . well, sometimes we do have to rein him in. Hobie is at his best with productions that call for multiple costume and prop changes complemented by the perfect musical score. He does, however, have a practical side. Sponsors appreciate Hobie’s astute counseling on how best to present products or services in a parade setting.

Barkley has a multi-faceted background -- and by some accounts, a multiple personality. With more than 30 years’ experience in parade production, theatrical and large-arena production, television production, dance, special event coordination, Barkley certainly knows how to put on a performance. She also has 20-plus years in public relations, marketing and advertising. What does all of this mean for your event? It means you will have the creative vision necessary to meet critical sponsorship and thematic needs. If your parade will be televised live -- or if you are considering it -- Barkley’s experience with parade broadcasts will certainly pay off. She can help you attract the right television outlet, assist your television partner in choosing the best visuals, camera locations, and fulfill a host of other technical needs. For choreography, music and costume recommendations and for parade production ideas galore -- just plug her in. What’s more, Barkley is as competent coordinating small groups in a local parade as she is handling a cast of hundreds, as she did for opening and closing ceremonies during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
