Hobie is constantly explaining why he makes such a production of everything. Its just his nature. Hobie has spent 10 years producing not only magnificent parades but also spectacular football half-time shows. He speaks the language of band directors with a fluency commanded only by those who know their stuff. Speaking of command, young performers in particular respond beautifully under Hobies accentuate-the-positive direction. He can, for example, choreograph a dance troupe of dozens, uttering nary a negative word. Hobies creativity is diverse: music selection, staging, costuming. Want props? Tailor-made: from precious hand puppets to jagged mountain peaks that roll onto a football field and provide the backdrop for 14-foot tall giraffes and . . . well, sometimes we do have to rein him in. Hobie is at his best with productions that call for multiple costume and prop changes complemented by the perfect musical score. He does, however, have a practical side. Sponsors appreciate Hobies astute counseling on how best to present products or services in a parade setting.
